Big thanks to Ange and his team of bracket-entering-dudes for getting us all up to date. http://thengamer.com/guru/ - clicking your name on the ranks will display your personal bracket page complete with notifications for all your risky picks and mistakes. feel free to share that link around on the boards or even put it in your sig if you want to look reeeeeeeeally cool this season - speaking of which, now is the time to check your bracket on the site and make sure it lines up with your official entry. sometimes we make mistakes entering it, sometimes you made a mistake posting it, neither is a problem as long as we take care of it early - did you post your bracket but we missed you and it's still not on the site? hopefully that didn't happen but if so, sorry, let us know! --- All in all there was plenty we disagreed with this season; the median bracket has 17 match results that don't fall in line with the Guru consensus, making this the most unpredictable 1v1 bracket in Guru history (topping even Game of the Decade). For the second post - no single bracket is far enough ahead of those people to eliminate them on their own (with the idea being that Bracket A is eliminated by Bracket B if A has fewer points to be gained in future matches than the current point difference between A and B). However, if at least one of two or more brackets will eventually outscore A (for any combination of results in which A will not gain points), then A is eliminated by the combination of all of those brackets, even if we don't know which one will eliminate them until a future match. The easiest example is probably SubDeity, in the case that FF6 and FF7 win. What I have noted down is this: SubDeity by foxhead[CT], LordoftheMorons[Melee] If FF6/FF7 win, SubDeity will be at 114, foxhead will be at 128, and LordoftheMorons will be at 130, with the only differences between their brackets being the division 1 finalist (worth 8 points), and the semifinalist out of divisions 7/8 (worth 16 points). Even though SubDeity can gain 16 points on both of them if RE4 wins, it doesn't matter, because one of them will gain points from Chrono Trigger/SSBM to push their lead over him over 16 points. For the people that have FF7 in the finals (and in the event of a FF7 loss), I start with the base scenario that maximizes their potential points, and check all permutations of potential finalists that are possible with their bracket. It turns out that all the possible finalists in those scenarios are accounted for in someone's bracket, which will put the correct person unreachably ahead, even if we don't know which person it will be yet. My bracket still hasn't been fixed.
