That's my wishful thinking.

Thanks! Anyway, time for most actual classes. :(

Yeah, but that's because the afterschool vote is never going to help a non-mainstream RPG character.

I'm in the same boat as steve illumina.... Hearing all of the negativity towards Diablo made me doubt him beating Kefka. So now I have to hope that this match against Bison brought Diablo back down to Earth to think that Kefka would have ANY chance against him....

With 22 perfects left, I'm going to be very unhappy if more than 15 remain after today. God how I would despise a perfect bracket... and it's looking more and more like we'll have one.

I hope there aren't any perfect, cuz I got a friend who's one point off I believe, thanks to my aid. He stands a good chance at winning if he has a nice tiebreaker and assuming things play out the way they should in the rest of this.

By the way, congrats Harrich. I feel the shame.

No one has noticed, but Diablo's lead has gone from about 900 to around 850.

People think it's unreasonable to take Lavos over Diablo? You think M. Bison is somehow super strong just because he doubled Albedo? (Liquid Snake got 79% against fodder) No matter what, he'd be hard-pressed to be within a couple percent of Ken in strength.

Hm, not much discussion going on at the moment. I guess that's all I can say. :P

Nothing is in any sort of bag. 9.5 hours into a 24 hour poll it is hard to say anyone is going to definitely win anything especially when it's within 900 votes. Also, I had noticed that Bison has been making a stand of sorts in the past 30 minutes or so. I would say that this match is far from over, considering that M.Bison had the lead for a long time last night. If that indicates that M.Bison is the stronger night vote character then this match could really be interesting all day. But I suspect that that was more likely the board 8 vote favoring M.Bison, and that Diablo will pull away in a similar fashion as Master Hand did against Kuja.

*prays that this will be a nailbiter by the end of the day* Only two more realistic possibilities of it happening after this match: Robotnik vs. Master Hand and Kefka vs. Diablo(Bison?), pretty much.

I wonder if the Diablo's outside help will be greater when the afterschool vote comes around? If it even makes a difference, of course. I'm looking forward to the Ruin final, as well...I'll give the slight advantage to Diablo.

I still think Kefka is the class of this division, and today's match should help to prove it. Luca and Albedo should be similarly fodderific, and Kefka stomped the guy who beat Luca harder than Bison beat Albedo. Unless Diablo really turns it up this afternoon and evening, I see him being close to Kefka, but not strong enough to beat him.

Considering how weak Sigma is, just imagine how badly screwed up Mario vs. Servbot must've been.

1 - Perfects, if there are any at the end, still aren't an accomplishment. I'd give more props to someone with 190 out of 192 than 80 out of 80... there's just that much of a difference. If we'd have had a 64 character bracket we'd have lost the 22 that have a chance now long ago. Besides, we have three good matches left and these people are dropping on matches we wouldn't miss.

2 - I don't think Mario vs Servbot is in anyway wrong, for its time. Servebot was in MvC2, and the weakest from that game. Everybody else in it was stronger, obviously it was the powerhous of the year. Hell, 2 of the 5 characters pointed at for WDF were in MvC2 which died off after 2k2 (see the non-returning-ness of Morri, Servbot and Strider) which is why that factor is really a non-factor.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing over half of the brackets that Ridley could win. - Harrich
From: therealmnm | Posted: 5/24/2005 11:03:13 AM | Message Detail
Ummmm actually.... Servbot is probably more liked than Sigma. <_< No, really. Maybe not among hardcore Mega Man fans, but think about their general popularity. <_<

This contest will be a bore now except for Kefka/Diablo. Since I had Kuja making it to Ganondorf, Eggman/Master Hand doesn't matter for me anyways. I'm pulling for Master Hand since more people probably have Robotnik making it to Ganondorf than Master Hand. Probably more of a chance for me to win a prize. Not likely happening though. 3 points lost got me tied for a tenth place prize in SC2k4, and that contest had double the matches....

I'm sure this match is a near-split among perfects. Depending on who wins this, we'll see 7-15 perfects I think. Lets just say 11, cut it in half, seeing as this match is still a tossup (yes, Bison is coming back awfully fast, and if this trend continues until the night, things will look interesting).

Anyway, robotnik vs master hand people will also be split on. Master hand out of the four pack is a great upset pick (or it turns out), but even better would be if robotnik could win - these bracket makers take risks, I'm sure some people took robo > master hand for the really unique 4-pack. Lets say 7 make it out.

Then you have the debated kefka vs today's winner. Popularly, Kefka is the pick, however among brackets that are left, I wouldn't be suprised to see a LOT of bison/diablo division winners. We still have no indication of their strength toward Kefka, because this 4-pack is all new. No matter who wins, it'll be split.

Unfortunately, I still say there will be 1-2 perfects, unless upset hits outside of the 3 remaining (including today's) slightly unpredictable matches.

At the 11:15 mark, this match has 37444 votes. To compare to other matches at this same time:

Albedo/Bison - 29310
Ridley/Diablo - 40233
Bowser/Sigma - 31383
Kefka/Wesker - 34044

I left for my job interview and it was stuck in the 900 range. Now it's stuck in the 850 range. Bison is coming back, but he's doing it Liquid Snake style. Slooooooooooowly.

On a side note, if I pass my drug test tomorrow (which isn't a given; I'm a college student in the hippie/gamer/gay dorm), I'll have an 8.25/hour union job in a deli. What a kickassed summer job that would be.
