I'd be glad for Yoshi to beat Dante despite me switching to Dante in the last hour of the deadline.

I'd also like it if Mega Man actually beat Crono in the finals.

TP on GCN won't really matter, it's all about it being on the Wii.

I'm pretty confident that a system with an established userbase of over 20 million is more important than a launch system. Where do you think 80% of the sales from TP are going to be coming from?

I agree with Tequilla here. GCN has what... 80% ownership on GF? The Wii would only have like 40-50% ownership by Christmas on GF.

How about: what matches would you be glad to lose points on?

Luigi winning the contest (lol), Yoshi beating Snake, Bowser over Crono, Mario winning the battle royale, Ganon beating Sonic, Claire beating Kairi+Rikku (well, would've said that if you said this at the beginning of the contest), Alucard winning his fourpack, and Soma beating Sonic.

Too bad about 0% of these are realistic.

Just because Nintendo abandoned the GCN fans that have been waiting for TP for a literal year and a half doesn't mean that the Wii version is more important than the GCN version. Once again, you can't expect a launch system to be anywhere in the vicinity of a system with a massive established userbase. The GCN version of the game will be leaps and bounds of the Wii version in sales.

The GCN version will sell more, but that doesn't mean the Wii version is less hyped than the GCN version. I think it's all about when it actually comes out on anything.

How many of those do you think will be people who owned Gamecubes? Plus, the Wii version will be hyped as the important one, so people may still hold off for when they can get the Wii before they buy it.

You're not getting the point, though. The Wii will only move a million or so units at launch. *At best, only 25% of those million will buy the LoZ: TP. Compare that to a system that has 20 million units in homes combined with fans that have been waiting for 18 months for their version of the game to come out. Add in the fact that Wii + LoZ:TP will cost you $300 while a GCN owner buying LoZ:TP will only cost $50. Need I go on?

*The GCN's best game (SSBM) has 5 million sold which is 25% of the GCN's total userbase. I'm giving the LoZ:TP the same weight which could be a mistake based on the WW's performance.

I wouldn't compare TP with SSBM in terms of ownership. Try TP with SM64, they have much more in common.

I complete agree with what Consolefreak said earlier about Riku/Yoshi. The only difference is I actually took Riku because of it. This smells of another Magus/Knuckles to me. Just not quite as extreme.

SM64 was genre-breaking, though. Not to mention that using the GCN shows the recent market trends towards Nintendo consoles.

Interesting thing just popped up in my head. If you're like me and believe that Sonic>Crono this year, which match is "closer", Sonic/Ganon or Crono/Bowser. Considering that TP won't have much, if any, effect on the match, and that Ganon and Bowser are pretty much equal, and that I think Sonic>Crono, by that logic I'd have to take Bowser/Crono to be closer.

Riku > Yoshi was definitely my favorite "extreme" risk. I thought about taking it for a tiny bit, but chickened out at the end. If Yoshi manages to win that one easily, I'll definitely feel good about putting my trust in Nintendo characters for this contest.

While Crono will still be strong, there's STILL nothing new to say about him. He's been in a total of one game and hasn't been seen since.

I picked Sonic to upset him since I thought he impressed in the series contest. And before you go saying that he disappointed against Smash Bros, remember that Smash did damn well against Mario Bros, which made Sonic look even better in the process. Sonic may have come last in that "Who do you think will win?" poll, but in the series contest he had a 3 seed and still performed fine. I have him going to the finals and losing to Samus thanks to, you guessed it, Super Smash Bros.

Though he'd lose to Mr. Game & Watch.

Both of them look like crap in that picture. Jill looks plastic and Sheena looks like bad fanart. Claire's and The Boss's pics are still by far the best. Samus's was okay, but she only looks really awesome when her shoulders are enormous.

Well, this match arguably makes Ocelot look better than he seemed before, which is an argument for either more SFF from Mega Man to Yoshi or more from Yoshi to Pac-Man.

It's really, really hard for me to accept The Boss as stronger than Ocelot...maybe if Ocelot hadn't been in MGS3, but to think that The Boss is the most popular character in that game not named Snake, it makes me wonder.

If pictures really do matter with MGS, that would be truly something -- and it means Young Ocelot would have beaten Pac-Man! Yeah um something.

But as an aside, I'll also chime in with a "WTF" at seeing The Boss gain in the day against Celes. This means that there are two games that have shown characters with pathetic enough day votes for MGS to get an edge on them -- Chrono Trigger (Frog/Liquid) and FF6.

Or maybe MGS's day vote is better now! YEAH YEAH YEAH THAT MAKES SENSE

KH2 + American AC release + FFXII (I don't care if he isn't in it) + PS3 releasing a day or so before the match + TP releasing a day *after* the match = CLOUD WINS!
