To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA

~*Say What? Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense.

Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. See above for a watered down explanation for how the stats are calculated.

Noble Nine - Link, Cloud, Solid Snake, Sephiroth, Mario, Crono, Sonic, Samus and Mega Man.

Of course. They're very similiar in terms of series, like yoblazer pointed out. If Halo 3 won this, it would be a big boost for the Brawl supporters.

Smash Bros 64 wouldn't beat Melee would it? Same with Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros 3. The game that was the most popular and liked on this site will win.

Of course, there are differences between the two - namely Halo 2 sandwiched in the middle and Halo becoming slightly overshadowed by CoD upon the release of Halo 3. If Halo 2 had never been released and fans went six years with nothing, this match could be different.

The previous match nearly killed the -3s and this match finished the job. Other than killing the last -3, the prediction percentage wasn't too bad. The -4s did manage to break 90 while the -5s and -6s were above 80. The prediction percentage falls as expected from there.

5 people fell off the Top 50. Serj42, zidaneman, Simmedon, psaltery and itzzsemaj did not have Uncharted 2 winning the previous match.

The -3 bracket that got the match wrong was the only one to do so and survive. Former first place DBZUnicorn also did not have Uncharted 2 winning the previous match.

Eh, Halo has always looked to be a step ahead of Halo 3. It clearly had the better performance in 4-ways, and day vote or not, it looked a good bit better in the first round this year. There's no need for any SFF to explain this performance.

Brawl and Melee on the other hand have looked identical.

FFX would never kill Melee in a 1v1, it's not FFVII. FFX had OoT in 3 of it's matches last year, stop overrating FFX's strength. It's not even close to being a top 5 game.
