Lucky I'm even still following these contests enough to post here. No chance of getting me on a podcast dedicated to one! It's also the best contest I've ever had. Too bad my contest bracket has FFX winning. I had Sunshine in my main bracket and Halo on an alt. By the day that brackets closed I was 95% sure Halo would win. But I was stubborn and said screw it, I got this bracket in early and want a shot at the leaderboard. Not gonna win anyways. Oops. --- http://img.imgcake.com/alec1pngus.png |

Not gonna win anyways. This is the mentality that had killed my brackets for years. Last year I said "I'm ****ing winning this", and I made late changes in matches that I was picking with sentimental value like Mewtwo/Ganondorf. And I was ONE MATCH AWAY. Well, I do it in every contest, but the most "successful/tragic" one was Spring 2004. "My bracket isn't going anywhere anyway, wouldn't it be funny to take SMB3 > CT and SMB3 > FFVII?" Little did I know that matches like SMRPG > SF2, Starcraft > Halo, and SSBM winning the 128 division would be so uncommon. (Well, okay, I knew Starcraft would be, but the others...) I was in 10th place (or maybe 8th or 9th, I was definitely in the Top 10, but I want to say the low end of it) the day of SMB3/CT. Hahaha, wow. 13.73% Bracket. 20.59% Battle. People really over-estimated WoW. But
what I can't understand is how it only got up 7% for the battle
prediction when it was obvious it was going to be "by how much" and not
"will it win". I'm still not convinced that the majority of people don't just ignore the Battle Contest/just follow their bracket exactly and then leave it alone forever, and that's it isn't really just like Board 8 who would be all too serious about making changes to it during the middle of the contest based on results. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? My bracket's taken a beating with a few wrong picks this round. Hilariously, my battle picks have been perfect so far in Round 2. Too bad being perfect in Round 2 still won't get me anywhere close to the leaderboard! --- Wylvane shadosneko is a horrible user. |

I can't imagine many, if any, of the streaks that last back into R1 would make it that long. Either they'd get something wrong, or - like I probably will - bank somewhere. #18 and not planning on banking until KH/KH2. I feel confident enough
in anything up to that match but I'd feel like hell getting a 130k

I really don't want to pick on it, but it was much easier to tell myself I'd bank there that day where I just got past the Lusterboard and didn't see a bunch of streaks the same of mine that would race past me if I banked. Now it's a lot tougher. I think banking there would guarantee I don't win but I'm not sure it would take me out of placing at the end. don't plan on banking again for the entire tournament. I'd rather have
a substantial lead banked at that point and count on myself going on
another streak than thinking the people trying to catch up to me will
