Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense. Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. See above for a watered down explanation for how the stats are calculated. Noble Nine - Link, Cloud, Solid Snake, Queen Sephiroth, Mario, Crono, Sonic, Samus and Mega Man --- Wylvane RayDyn is a horrible user. |

Let it be known: Melee > Brawl Chrono Trigger > FFX, SMW, SMB3, etc. Crono > Mario Goldeneye is a top 10 game. Link > Your favorite character --- Nominate Crono so he can get a higher seed and avoid being fed to Clinkeroth early in the contest. |

Let it also be proclaimed: Samus was SFF'd by Link in 2003. WDF is not real (but Link/Mario SFF in 2002 is). Brawl is an objectively bad game, despite it being impossible for any game to be objectively bad. This game is so bad that it did the impossible. Old Games > New Games (and N64/PS > SNES > GC/Xbox/PS2 > NES > Wii/PS3/360) Link deserves every last one of his contest wins, and it's an outrage this site didn't vote him their champion TWICE. --- Nominate Crono so he can get a higher seed and avoid being fed to Clinkeroth early in the contest. |

Yeah,
that one is really questionable. It's clear the average current gen
game stomps the average NES game. I was thinking that SMB3 would beat
any current gen game, but I forgot about Brawl when writing that. But.....Brawl would get 60-40'd by Melee, right? YES INDEED. So forget that, SMB3 > Brawl and NES > Wii yes. --- Nominate Crono so he can get a higher seed and avoid being fed to Clinkeroth early in the contest. |

even as a guy who tries to pick up hipster chicks with my awesome
Persona 4 creds while I up their social links, P4 is, like, the most

Atmosphere
can be just as important to a game as gameplay. Else, RPGs wouldn't be
nearly as relevant. Look at how FF7's atmosphere drew in a ****load of

SotC doesn't have nearly as much general appeal. Same thing I would tell them if I wanted to play Persona 4. "Check this out it's really freaking different you might or might not connect but it has a high chance of being one of your favorite games if you really click with it. I would tell them that you get to fight huge beasts, except with some differences from God of War: -They're even bigger! -Gameplay is much slower. -You have to use the environment to figure out how to get on the beast, then you must scale it until you get to its weak point, whilst holding on for dear life.
