Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense. Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. Spyro is the most recognizable, the most nostalgic, and he's a *****ing dragon. And I'll tell ya—dragons are hotter
than ever right now, especially with the Game of Thrones enjoying so

In regards to comments made in the last topic about Xenoblade being stronger in Europe: Spyro might be too, according to these Geolocation results: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/3695 Spyro did really well in the U.K., coming with a percentage or two of winning (he won outright in Scotland), and he does seem to overall be much more popular in Europe than in the USA. Walking Dead also had some good results in Europe in the last GOTY poll, but if it is more popular there, it's only by a bit. --- "What's the matter with bootblacking? We both like it very much!" Here is the only known trend chart for a Spyro match: Time | Leon | Ridley | Spyro | Vivi EBV | 37.79% | 21.13% | 8.70% | 32.38% PHV | 39.95% | 20.72% | 8.69% | 30.63% FNV | 40.60% | 18.52% | 8.41% | 32.48% BSV | 38.21% | 19.99% | 10.44% | 31.36% DSV | 40.53% | 17.86% | 9.49% | 32.12% ASV | 39.86% | 19.10% | 11.55% | 29.48% SNV | 42.32% | 17.95% | 9.75% | 29.98% You can see that Spyro does worst with the first 7 hours of the match. He does well with the early morning vote, but the ASV was his best time period. I feel like I should point out here as well and not just in a side
topic: Digimon entrants are elligible for nomination (as are Medabots,
if you remember that series). So which of them are we nomming next
contest? ...Huh. I'd think Greymon or maybe Metalgreymon. Prominent in season 1, should have at least as much recognizable as anything else, and they look pretty cool. Metabee would be the obvious nom for Medabots but I don't really think we should bother. >_> --- [NO BARKLEY NO PEACE] |
