It felt pretty light-hearted in the game? In 1997, the word didn't have a lot of emotional or political weight behind it that it does today. An equivalent phrase would be "would you stop acting like an idiot!", which feels in character since - at that moment - Barret is going on about how he won't see his daughter ever again because he is out of breath from the stairs. I think it's harder to read it as playful now that we accept a word like that shouldn't be thrown around casually. Formerly cool |

it needs to cut about 50 votes per hour to win. its doable. as for previous matches P4 does tend to get ever so slightly stronger at the end. but for the most part it just stays the same. |

Both words were originally used to describe those with low IQ test results. All I sense is oversensitivity on society's part. |

It's intended as an insult and slur the exact same way. Replace the slur with the word "idiot" or "moron". That's what they were going for back then I think. It wasn't until years later when that word became a big no-no in general society. If you go back and watch shows from the late 90s you'll see a lot of them say that word like it's no big deal at all. It's unfortunate but like most people have said, it's a time period thing. At least they took it out of later releases. Formerly ff6man. Advokaiser won the guru! Congrats! |

gap has been around the 200-250 range throughout most of the match.
Only just now with 3 hours left it's tip-toeing the 200 barrier. I wish I
were wrong but I wouldn't get anyone's hopes up. Last
