33 users missed 8 points but survived. Despite the fact I suck at the Oracle usually, I'm somehow in 16th place in second chance (two 50's, two 46's). Overestimated God of War and Persona 5 today by the look of it, I'll be shocked if I stay on the leader board.

That makes SMG2 look too strong, IMO. Alternatively, I'll entertain the idea that Japan (especially Nintendo) simply overperforms against a big Western game these days.

Wow, the Persona vs Xenoblade matchup got much closer than what I initially thought. In any case glad the better game won.

If there's not much SFF at all, then this is the kinda performance that makes Zelda look possibly beatable.

this is an overpermformance but lets not get crazy here

i dont even know what game is stronger between God of War and DQXI. even not accounting for SFF Witcher would need to approach the 70% range to be in the same league as BoTW's underwhelming result.

Zelda got 70% on Dragon Quest 11 one of the most beloved jrpg on the site. If anything Zelda is too strong i would exclude it from the contest.

God of War currently needs to beat DQ11 by 57% for Witcher to beat BotW

Assuming no SFF, that is.

Anecdotally, many God of War fans I know played it after being introduced to gaming this generation via Witcher 3. I could see Witcher 3 making God of War look weaker than it would look against a jRPG, for example.

I'm pretty confident the SFF issue will be answered in a couple days when Persona 5 still gives Witcher a very respectable fight.

GoW probably goes 50/50 with the well liked JRPG.

This is like the first contest where a lot of Western games are facing each other, so there's not much history for us to examine. Before this decade, there were like half a dozen Western games on this site worth a cup of salt.

The unadjusted stats for this contest are going to be a big hot mess.

at least this does answer one thing fairly clearly...how P5 and P4 stack up to each other

based on results against RDR1/2, Portal 2 seems to be slightly above Persona 4...so you could just take this result, maybe add a couple of % to it, and that's the difference from 5 to 4.

God of War has not looked shabby at all leading to this point, so I have no words to describe the absolute ass-kicking Witcher is giving it here.

I highly, highly doubt Skyrim is breaking 40% on it.

i'm hoping it does worse than god of war for pretty much the same reasons.
though i'll also love the chaos that brings.

and then even more chaos when it SFFs Skyrim into the f***ing ground.

story focused, you level up and acquire gear, you explore a non liner semi-open world complete with side quests that reveal the world's lore and give more insight into secondary characters, etc

for all intents and purposes, it appeals to the same type of player that likes Witcher 3.

Yes, the new God of War has heavy RPG elements.

It has customizable, upgradeable gear and abilities, and it has experience points gained through combat. Does it really need dialogue choices to seal the deal?

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is literally a Witcher 3 clone down to the dialogue and giant open world

So, I just looked at Second chance for today, and I have 57 for Witcher and 62 for Persona. Oh boy.

man, i've never been as interested in god of war as now thanks to this topic.
don't like the original or its sequel, never bothered with 3 or any of the rest.

but this one being with RPG stuff seems like a nice upswing to being less s***.
