I've seen people here wanting a new series contest. Guinness Book of World Records is the name of the diary that belongs to azuarc, the winner of the Game of the Decade II guru contest. |
Didn't someone (I think MetalMindStats?) make a mock bracket of Villains 2? It didn't look as terrible as I expected. congrats to azuarc the GotD2 guru |
I voted villains I wanna see Dutch, Handsome Jack, Goose, Jack Baker, Illusive Man, Monika, Death Strandings walking physics, etc Also I want to see Tom Nook represented properly as a villain |

I do like constructing mock brackets, so I'll probably update it if there's enough support, especially if I can get some sort of read on which characters we think don't belong. someone asked how much fodder would the 90s contest have. I made a list
of a potential 128 game bracket. I'm likely missing something, but
while the top games are indeed strong the strength level is expected to
drop considerably as you approach 128 games. wonder whether a Best 90s Game contest would have the same two games
per series limit as the current contest. It'd be interesting to see
which of the big three Mario games would be snubbed and which non-VII FF

I want a new Series contest. I know others do. If anything the last one was run too early. There weren't really 32 notable series. Now you could do a 64 entrant bracket that is more interesting than that 32 entrant bracket ever was. Also if Zelda is left out as the championship match we don't know who would win it, which is unique. Rallies aside the last contest without a clear frontrunner was GotD1. the 90's are top heavy. They rule the roost then drop off hard. But I'd
love to see Game of the 90's, and I like the idea of taking the top 40
from each decade that got a contest, and the 8 80's games that made it
to the second round in 2009, and doing an all-star Best Game Ever

I'd
much prefer just getting Best Game Ever IV instead. It's functionally
identical to Game of the 90s in the later rounds, but we get rid of all
these terrible fodder in the earlier rounds. congrats to azuarc the GotD2 guru |

of the 90s would be an insane contest. You people are on crack. Allen
would simply have to not have the silly 2 games per series rule. Like you CANNOT have that contest only have two of Mario 3, Super Mario World, Yoshi’s Island, and Mario 64 in it. That is just criminal negligence. Which is to say nothing of the five notable Final Fantasy titles. 4, 6, 7, 8, and Tactics. Azuarc called it. He told you so. He is vindicated. division by era was the contests' first great mistake. we don't need it again. I agree that a regular game contest is effectively a 90s contest once you get far enough along. there's no need to run a strictly 90s contest. xyzzy |

Unsure of TMNT because of its bad reputation of being too hard (I disagree, but still). Rallies would be difficult for nearly all of the entrants in a 90s contest. Except for Pokemon. ...So how about that console contest? |

Series has the most potential for utterly lopsided blowouts. We may
have more series available to us, but I don't think it's going to give
us a higher ratio of exciting matches. |

also like game of the 90s because it probably has the deepest pool of

correct answer is to have a 32 entrant console contest next year,
followed up by a big Character Battle in 2022, assuming society lasts
