My sense is that among people that own both, the Vita is a better handheld. I guess the PSP could win a head to head match based on the sheer numbers advantage, but I'd pick the Vita in that theoretical matchup.

I think the PSP is viewed as the more successful console in the collective minds of people. Vita was something of a meme (even if it was, in fact, the superior hardware).

In a poll where both options are getting SFF to death, having a small, but dedicated fanbase can be the difference maker.

In a theoretical 1v1 match, I think it comes down to how the pictures are handled. If it's only a picture of the handhelds then I would go PSP, but if they are showing pictures of games on the handheld then I'd take the Vita thanks to Persona 4...

Console fanboy nutjobs looking to score points on the internet are the only ones who give a s*** about hardware specs. The VAST majority of people only care about whether or not the games are fun.

I think most people who like the Vita do so because of its software. But the hardware probably made that possible.

The demonstration of the Vita impressed me back when it was released, with its graphical hardware, touch screen in the back and all that, but how many noteworthy games came out in it aside from Persona 4 Golden? Uncharted: Golden Abyss and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale are the only ones that come to mind, and those came out like 8 years ago. It also had Mortal Kombat 9, but I don't even see useful info from it here in GameFAQs.

Vita was great for the ability to play basically every Playstation game portably.

And yeah, I get that, too. I'd take the PS1 over the N64 in a direct match, but I'd be dreading it the entire time.

I'd lean PS1 over N64 too, but then I'd wonder 'wait, what if this turns into the Series Contest again, and pretty much everyone who likes the PS1 likes FF7?' until the match happens except even worse since that already puts it behind N64.

The Nintendo 64 is pretty top heavy. Imagine a picture with Ocarina of Time/Super Mario 64/GoldenEye/Super Smash Bros. vs. Final Fantasy VII/Metal Gear Solid/Castlevania SotN/Resident Evil 2.

Now if the picture was literally just the two consoles then I would take the Playstation to win.

I wouldn't trust Allen not to make that match 1997 vs. 2001 all over again

I was on board with N64 beating PS1 in a console contest well before anyone else thought that was a possibility, but recently I've begun to swing back. The nostalgia balance seems to be shifting away from it.

PS1 might also serve as a kind of proxy for the entire Playstation lineup/legacy for voters, so that's another wildcard factor in play.

N64 vs. PS1 is a just a Nintendo vs. Square proxy match. Easy 55-45 for Ninty.

As much of a joke that this is, we could actually balance them out in case one turns out to be massively favored over the other.

Surely there's a way to have an image of 8 games (4 per console) in order to prevent this, right?

Let's sabotage image-submission then so Allen can only accept joint images.

It may actually work out pretty well if we're going with a slider kind of thing like in Years, so we can slide more games at a time and in order of popularity/strength.

The PSP would have the sheer numbers advantage over Vita, as the ownership rates can attest to. The PSP maxed out at a 53.23% ownership on this site while the Vita maxed out at just 38.56% ownership.

So I was on Facebook and saw a trending post of an artist with graphic drawings of Mario battling various VG characters. There was one of Mario battling Chrono and someone posted a comment under that picture "If you're from GameFAQs, this one hits different".

Now not just anybody on Al Gore's internetz knows about the epic contest battles between Mario and Chrono, so I asked the poster if he was active on Board 8 during the contests. Found out it was ExThaNemesis!

I immediately RKO'd him with thunderous wrath and furious anger. He of course oversold the devastating RKO out of nowhere. It was glorious.

People seem marginally less excited about the new Xbox/PlayStation than in September.

79.5% to Biden when he needs to win 68% of outstanding votes outstanding to tie the president.

Of course, there was a bigger focus on mail in ballots given the pandemic (especially with one party collectively taking the virus more seriously than the other), which is a big reason why the race is still undecided the day after Election Day,

Trump is so strong because he got a bandwagon going. Round 1 Trump was pretty much fodder but he kept getting weak GOP opponents fed to him.
