Based on this, I think BG3 is probably legit. I'd just be skeptical it could beat any of our classic top tier games.

Oh, nothing too extreme, I think the winners are legit, but not quite to the degree they results are implying, I think the winners would dominate a good bit less in a contest. Not that we have anything to compare to directly.

I don't think TotK is a fraud either but probably significantly weaker than BotW though.

ToTK's peak has to be like, Majora's Mask level. Definitely not beating LttP, and probably getting 65/35'd by BotW (barring extreme SFF)

FFT triples MGS3

Hades II closed the gap a bit at least, felt weird to have voted for it early and its total only being 3, lol...

Makes me sad to see Snake Eater doing so poorly. MGS just ain't what it used to be around here.

What I'm gathering from these polls is that Clair Obscur is literally the only new game that GameFAQs decided to play this year.

I'm just happy that 2013 Snake getting 46.5% on Link can never be erased no matter what Konami does or how general opinion changes on MGS

But also I wonder how many users even thought Delta was a necessary release. I still haven't picked it up and I think MGS3 is the best game ever made.

Delta really surprised me, I’m never going to play the original again. You have to give it a try!

Well Delta was definitely necessary, it just wasn’t a very good remake unfortunately. It just didn’t make enough improvements. If you compare it to the Silent Hill 2 remake it is not nearly as good. Konami has being doing good stuff lately though which is weird to say. Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill f, Deliver at All Costs, Suikoden and Castlevania remasters, and while I didn’t love Delta it is still a good game and the best way to play MGS3 it just feels old.

While I haven’t played the Ivalice Chronicles by all accounts it is a much bigger improvement than MGS Delta was. This will probably be how I play FFT for the first time.

Yes, Ivalice Chronicles is undoubtedly the definitive version of FFT now.

Delta is great because MGS3 is great, but you're not missing a lot if you just stick to Subsistence. I also find the PS2 graphics a little more charming and somehow the characters are more expressive than in Delta.

SH2R makes improvements, but it adds a lot of padding, too. At least Delta doesn't unnecessarily add hours of gameplay.

Kinda nice to have a close match to refresh.

The Kong really brought it back but there's not much time left.

(And if top 2 advances, it doesn't even matter. >_>)

FFT might actually finish second this year unless i'm completely missing a game from Autumn.

Depends on the remake. MGS Delta isn't exactly lighting up today's poll. Even if MGS as a whole has lost a step, I'd still take MGS3 over FFT in a contest poll easy.

Well it also has to be a remake people care about, which, sadly for Metal Gear Solid fans, Delta isn't.

DQI&II is much closer to FFT in terms of 'remake people care about'.

SH2 is like the FFVII of the Silent Hill series. MGS3 is not, the series is too evenly popular.

Also that whole Vol 1 thing was released just a few years ago, making the remake feel especially unnecessary. We want Vol 2, not a game that was just re-released with better graphics.
